Residential Properties - Information Required:
To facilitate utility services for your residential property, we kindly request the following information:
- Service Address and UPC Number (Parcel ID): Please contact the Bernalillo County Assessor's Office to obtain this information.
- Current Water Source and Requested Service(s): Provide details on your existing water source and the specific service(s) you require.
- Empty Meter Box: If your property does not have an empty meter box, please have your plumber/contractor contact our Utility Development team by clicking on the "Connection Permits" link.
- Meter Size: Most residential properties typically utilize ¾" to 1" meters. Please specify the meter size you need.
- Utility Expansion Charges (UEC): Review the charges for establishing service by clicking on the provided link. UEC charges, effective as of July 1, 2022, can be paid in full or financed with a down payment.
- Water Resource Charges (WRC): If your residential property is located outside the Established Service Area, WRC charges, as of July 1, 2022, may also be required to establish service.
- Down Payment (if applicable): If you choose to make a down payment, please provide proof of ownership and a copy of the owner's government-issued ID.

Business Properties (Commercial, Industrial, or Institutional) - Requirements:
For business properties, including multi-family developments, the following requirements apply:
- Availability Statement: Obtain an Availability Statement before proceeding. If a project is needed, a "Letter of Conditional Project Acceptance" is also required. Please contact our Utility Development team at utilitydevelopment@abcwua.org for further assistance.
- Service Address and UPC Number (Parcel ID): Contact the Bernalillo County Assessor's Office to acquire these details.
- Empty Meter Box: If your property does not have an empty meter box, have your plumber/contractor get in touch with our Utility Development team via the "Connection Permits" link.
- Meter Size: Specify the meter size required for your business property.
- Utility Expansion Charges (UEC): Review the applicable charges for establishing service by clicking on the provided link.
- Water Resource Charges (WRC): If your business property is located outside the Established Service Area, Water Resource Charges (WRC) as of July 1, 2023, may also be necessary for service establishment.
- Down Payment (if applicable): If you opt for a down payment, please provide proof of ownership and a copy of the owner's government-issued ID.
