The South Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America is hosting the Distinguished Citizen's Dinner on September 28, 2023, at the Rainwater Conference Center in Valdosta, GA. This prestigious event honors individuals who exemplify the principles of good citizenship and community service, aligning with the values of the Boy Scouts. The evening celebrates those who live by the Scout Oath and Law, contributing significantly to the community without necessarily being Scout volunteers. The event will feature a black-tie optional dinner, with opportunities for corporate sponsorship and individual participation. Proceeds will support local Scouting initiatives. The 2023 honoree is Dr. William R. Grow, a dedicated community leader and health professional. Keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Kathleen Toomey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health.
